Bloor-Yonge Station - platform design investigations
November 30, 2020 to March 31, 2021
What we are doing and why
The TTC’s Bloor-Yonge Capacity Improvements project is currently in the design stage. This station will be undergoing significant modifications to meet both current and future ridership demand. The Bloor-Yonge Station project includes the construction of a new Line 2 passenger platform, the expansion of both Line 1 passenger platforms, enhancements to the concourse level, entrances, exits and improved accessibility features.
Over the next several months there will be investigative work on both the Line 1 and Line 2 platforms including the removal of tiles, ceiling and wall panels to assess the condition of the wall and the utility services located behind these panels. There are several work locations on each platform, within Bloor-Yonge Station, and a construction sign will be posted near each work location.
- Work at these locations is expected to begin November 30, 2020 and completed in the spring 2021.
- Work is planned in the evening after peak travel times.
Pedestrian and transit restrictions
- Pedestrian walkways, subway platforms and property access will be maintained at all times.
- As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.
Thank you for your patience as we work to improve transit in Toronto.
