Bay Station - Easier Access Project
Elevators entered service on December 30, 2020
For background information, please visit the project page.
The Easier Access project at Bay Station commenced in mid 2019 and involved the installation of one elevator to access the eastbound and westbound platforms from the concourse level. The elevator entered service on December 30, 2020 and is available for customer use.
Other station upgrades include a new sloped floor, guard rail and automatic doors for a barrier-free path to and from the Cumberland Terrace connection. Please note however that the automatic doors at the Cumberland Terrace connection are not yet fully automated. Until the automatic doors are operational, TTC Ambassadors will be positioned at the door of the Cumberland Terrace connection, to assist customers in using the accessible path.
Remaining project-related activities will continue at the station into mid-2021.
Public Art
A public art component will be incorporated into Bay Station as part of the TTC Public Art Policy. The pre-qualification process for the public art competition is expected to commence in 2021. Details will be posted once confirmed.
